From Friday 10th February 2017, the Down To Earth Foundation, based at the Eco Park in Cornwall, will be running weekly Volunteer sessions.
Aimed at adults, these free sessions offer unique hands-on learning opportunities, and training in a variety of practical, and sustainable land-based skills.
In February we’ll be kicking things off with two brilliant growing projects:
Plot to Plate
Join us in creating a new, flourishing allotment for the Eco Park, which will supply the café with year-round fresh, organic vegetables, herbs and edible flowers. Includes guidance in soil preparation, plot planning and planting.
The Wonders of Willow
Learn about the cultivation and management of Willow, with hands on teaching including ground preparation, growing, harvesting and how to work with it as both a building and contemporary craft material.
We ask that you commit to a full morning on site (arriving from 9am and being out on the land at 9:30am until 1pm). In return you’ll be in a stunning location on the north COrnish coast, with a friendly team working in the great outdoors. Volunteers are also welcome to join us for a freshly made hot and wholesome Vegan or Vegetarian lunch in the Cantina Cafe afterwards.
