ABOUT THE ARTISTS…

We welcome Pat Kalla and his band back to the Eco Park after his
sensational show headlining Tropical Pressure Festival back in 2019.  Pat
Kalla is a musician, singer and storyteller and a soul man!  Born in Lyon,
France from a Cameroonian father a musician and political activist and a
French mother ,he explores the soul, the slam and the funk and the art
of telling stories, life being a great one.

After releasing his first acclaimed EP with hot singles “Lady Angola”
and “Ancient Combatant” Pat Kalla and the super mojo band became much
in demand. His performance at Tropical Pressure was his first UK visit
and this show is his much anticipated return. His subsequent albums
Jongler, a tribute to the African culture in honour of a father with
Sawa origins, the tribe from the people of Makossa, Hymne a la vie and
Belle Terre take in the style of High life, Makossa, Angolian music,
afrobeat, Caribbean funk and Afro disco and turn it into something
tropical and totally original…its irresistible dance music of the
highest order

Backed by the super mojo band with a deep groove and positive energy
this show will be explosive!

Super Mojo

Super Mojo are the best musical relaxant, should the words cease to be heard, they arrive showing us their organic instrumentation, vintage keyboards and Afro-Cuban pianos. Super Mojo’s work perfectly underlines these superb stories.

Highlife, Rumba, Biguine, Funk and Afrobeat are well known musical ingredients. On this record they are dosed in almost secret proportions, add to the pot some more essences coming from the Island of Reunion, The West Indies and mainland Africa. Harmonies from the duo Bonbon Vodou, feature on “Aimer”, the Creole sunshine of Olivia Victorin (Dowdelin) on “Rêve Danser”, and a melancholic moment from the Franco-Congolese Rebecca M’Boungou (Kolinga) on “Rivière”. All these artists knew exactly how to touch the heart and sensitivity of Pat, talking about love while embarking on a dreamlike journey, evoking the spirits of their ancestors.

Directed by Guts, ‘Belle Terre’, this 3rd album by Pat Kalla and his Super Mojo, may cause some psychedelic disturbances in the most receptive subjects. If so, the full potential has been unleashed. Expect the most unexpected.
