TIME: 12.30pm – 3pm
TICKETS: £35
Using willow and starting with a horseshoe shaped framework you’ll weave a shallow, dished platter known in Ireland as a ‘sciathog’.
These baskets were used to strain cooked potatoes and then placed on the table.
If you want to make them more decorative and have any materials you would like to incorporate – catkins, dried grasses etc- please bring them along.
Suitable for all ages, children will need one-to-one assistance from accompanying adults and will be able to weave simpler versions.
