Join eco-conscious photo artist Josie to delve into the beautiful blues of the historic cyanotype process.
Cyanotype photography is a camera-less technique that involves laying an object on paper coated with a solution of iron salts before exposing it to UV light and washing with water to create stunning white and Prussian blue images.
Be inspired by the setting for her studio at Mount Pleasant Eco Park as you learn how to collaborate with and harness nature to produce botanical inspired sun-prints.
You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the basics of this eco-conscious process, including the original Victorian-era chemistry and its historical story.
Take away a set of four postcards to send or frame.
This is a small group limited to six participants.
The workshop takes place at Josie’s studio within Roots Press at Unit 2, Mount Pleasant Ecological Park, Porthtowan, TR4 8HL.
Monday 27th May from 10am – 12:30pm
