Sustainable community space in the heart of Cornwall.
Mount Pleasant Ecological Park has the largest rammed earth building in the UK, situated in 42 acres of organic farmland in an area of outstanding natural beauty, near Porthtowan on the north Cornish coast.
Our aim is to bring this landscape back to life after years of intensive farming methods, through organic principles, increasing bio diversity and conservation programmes and to create a useful community facility.
It’s a working site that is open to the public, aiming to show by example more sustainable ways of doing things and a venue for local community events such as green weddings, theatre, live music , fund raising events and celebrations. It provides high quality workspace for local businesses, organic growing space for local people through the community garden scheme, training and education in traditional and sustainable skills to schools, colleges, universities and the general public.
