The Down to Earth Foundation inspires low impact living through courses, workshops, community events and Volunteering Friday sessions –  which all aim to aid environmental education for sustainable development.  Join one or more of these courses to learn practical, down to earth, realistic and artistic ways for low impact living, to get stuck in and have fun with other like-minded people.

Weaving Living Willow
Saturday 20th January 2018, 10am – 1pm

Hand Build Pottery with Hannah Lawrence
Thursdays 8th, 15th & 22nd February, 6 – 8pm
£65 + additional £15 to fire and glaze your work

Baskets from the Beach
Thursday 8th & Friday 9th March, 10am – 4pm
£95 + small change for resources
Incorporate driftwood, rope or netting from the beach into your own basket under the guidance of Lin Lovekin.   Click here for more info

Cob Blocks and Building
Sunday 15th April, 10am – 12
£8.50 Adults. Under 10s £3
Learn more about the versatile and low impact material cob. Get stuck into mixing and making cob blocks and sculptures.   Click here for more info

Homebrew Beers with Altantic Brewery
Sunday 25th March,  11am – 3pm
£50 or £60 including fermenting buckets and pasty lunch
Fire up a brew of spicy ginger beer and tasty nettle beer over the fire with a master brewer. Continue the two brews at home which’ll be ready to drink after a few more weeks of fermenting.   Click here for more info

Pallet Wood Furniture
Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th April, 10am – 4pm
£70 or £85 including lunch both days
Discover how to transform pallets into chairs. From splitting to carpentry techniques, craftsman Dave Morgan will lead you during this two day course.

Botanical and Indigo Dyes
Sunday 27th May, 10am – 5pm
£57.50 optional evening meal from 6pm £12 per person.
An introduction to using a range of natural dyes including immersive botanical dye techniques, mud dyes, solar dyes, hapazome and indigo.   Click here for more information

Mushroom Cultivation
Sunday 10th June, 10am – 5pm

Integrate mushrooms into your landscape

Rammed Earth Building
4 Day interactive course in Spring
£75 for 1 or more days
Build from the resources that surround you. Work alongside Tim Stirrup from Pioneer Building to dig, shape and finish a rammed earth wall.
