Autumn/Winter Courses 2017/18
The Down to Earth Foundation inspires low impact living through courses, workshops, community events and weekly Volunteering Friday sessions – which all aim to aid environmental education for sustainable development. Join one or more of these courses to learn practical, down to earth, realistic and artistic ways for low impact living, to get stuck in and have fun with other like-minded people.
Autumnal Brewing Course with Atlantic Brewery
Sunday 8th October 2017, 11am – 3pm, £50 + £5 for honey
Brew two autumn beers with master brewer Stuart Thomson from Atlantic Brewery. Take home a generous few pints of Parsnip Stout and Spiced Blackberry and Honey Metheglin mead. Brewed over the fire from local ingredients. £50 per person. Local honey for metheglin purchased separately. Bring your own lunch. Email email@example.com to book a place.
Get Muddy with Cob Workshop – suitable for all the family
Wednesday 25th October 2017, 10am – 12noon, £10 per family
Suitable for all ages, learn how to make cob blocks for a future Eco Park project as well as your own mini sculptures. £6 per adult, Email firstname.lastname@example.org to book.
Community Tree Planting Day
Sunday 12th November 2017, 9.30am – 4pm, Free
Join us to plant a new wild woodland at the Eco Park. The Woodland Trust have kindly donated 450 trees and we’ll be planting them to link existing wooded areas, creating a corridor for wildlife. Everyone is welcome and will receive a free lunch for getting stuck in. All tools and guidance will be provided just bring good shoes and dress for the occasion! Soup and bread will be served in La Cantina Cafe in return for your donations. No need to book, just turn up.
Christmas Willow Weaving Evening
Wednesday 6th December 2017, 6pm – 9pm,
£25 + additional charge for materials
Using local willow, learn traditional weaving techniques to create a range of decorations including Angels, Christmas Trees and Stars. £25 per person. Includes basic resources, additional willow can be purchased on the day for larger projects. Mulled wine £2.50. Email email@example.com to book a place, spaces are limited.
Gift Making Morning with Willow: Wreaths, Robins and Garlands

A family friendly morning using local willow and foraged greenery to make a range of decorations and natural gifts. From garlands to reindeer, wreaths to robins. £25 per adult.
